Seoul, South Korea — As previously reported, Samsung has officially launched the One UI 8.0 Beta Program, with the Android 16-based update now rolling out to Galaxy S25 series users in South Korea. The beta marks the first public release of One UI 8.0 and is expected to expand to additional markets in the coming weeks, including Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Owners of the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra in South Korea have begun receiving the initial beta build, which arrives with firmware version S9x8NKSU3ZYER. For the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the update weighs in at approximately 3.3GB and includes the May 2025 Android security patch.
While One UI 8.0 does not bring a significant visual overhaul—unlike its predecessor, One UI 7.0—it introduces a host of new and refined features aimed at enhancing usability, performance, and customization.
How to Join the One UI 8.0 Beta Program
Users interested in testing the beta version can enroll by downloading the Samsung Members app. After signing in with a Samsung account, participants must tap the One UI 8.0 Beta Program banner on the app’s homepage. Once registration is complete, the update can be installed by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Following installation, the device will automatically restart to apply the new software.
Samsung has not yet released the full changelog for the beta, but a detailed list of changes and improvements is expected shortly. The company plans to issue periodic beta updates throughout the testing period, with a stable release of One UI 8.0 set to follow once the feedback phase concludes.
In preparation for installation, users are encouraged to back up their data and ensure their devices are fully charged. A full guide on how to safely prepare for the beta update is available on Samsung’s official website.
With the Galaxy S25 series leading the charge, Samsung continues to push forward its software development, keeping pace with Android 16’s rollout and maintaining its commitment to offering early access and robust support for its flagship devices.
