August 4, 2025 – Global — The world’s biggest tech companies Alphabet, Microsoft, and Meta have reported a staggering $220.36 billion in combined revenue for the second quarter of 2025, reaffirming their dominant role in shaping the digital economy and highlighting renewed investor confidence in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and digital advertising.
Leading the charge was Alphabet Inc., parent company of Google, which posted $96.4 billion in quarterly revenue, a 14% increase year-on-year. The growth was driven by robust earnings from Search, YouTube advertising, subscriptions, and a surging cloud services division.
“This was a standout quarter,” said Google CEO Sundar Pichai. “AI is positively impacting every part of our business, from search to cloud to YouTube. Our new features, like AI Overviews and AI Mode, are performing well.”
Pichai also highlighted that Google Cloud now has an annual revenue run rate of over $50 billion. The division posted significant increases in revenue and profitability, prompting Alphabet to ramp up its capital expenditure to $85 billion for 2025, largely to support AI and cloud infrastructure.
Microsoft Delivers Strong AI-Driven Results
Microsoft also exceeded market expectations, reporting $76.44 billion in revenue for Q2 an 18.1% year-on-year growth. The software giant’s performance was propelled by AI-powered enterprise tools, Azure cloud growth, and continued momentum in Office 365 and LinkedIn.
Analysts noted that Microsoft’s early lead in integrating generative AI into its core products, including the integration of Copilot across Windows and Office suites, continues to pay off.
Meta Sees 22% Growth as AI and Ads Drive Engagement
Meta Platforms Inc., the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, delivered $47.52 billion in revenue, reflecting 22% growth year-on-year, sustained across both reported and constant currency terms.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg attributed the strong performance to the company’s aggressive push into AI, as well as increased user engagement.
“We’ve had a strong quarter both in terms of business and community. I’m excited to build personal superintelligence for everyone in the world,” said Zuckerberg.
Meta also issued Q3 guidance of $47.5 billion to $50.5 billion, while warning that Q4 growth could moderate due to a high base from 2024.
Industry Impact: AI, Cloud, and Digital Ads Reign Supreme
The combined results point to an industry being rapidly transformed by AI innovations, which now underpin everything from search algorithms and ad targeting to enterprise solutions and content creation.
The cloud computing race is also intensifying, with Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Meta’s AI infrastructure competing to meet surging global demand from businesses undergoing digital transformation.
“These results highlight that Big Tech’s AI bets are no longer just future facing they’re already delivering real commercial value,” said one industry analyst.
The three tech titans’ collective performance not only reassures investors but signals a deeper realignment of global tech priorities around machine learning, infrastructure scalability, and platform dominance in consumer and enterprise ecosystems.
