OnePlus has recently announced the impending arrival of OxygenOS 14 for its range of smartphones, unveiling a host of innovative features and supported handsets. The update, based on Android 14, is poised to elevate the user experience on select OnePlus devices. Notably, Google is anticipated to reveal Android 14 during its event on October 4, coinciding with the launch of the Pixel 8 series. The OnePlus 11 5G will lead the pack as the first device to receive the stable OxygenOS 14, slated for a November release.
OxygenOS 14 boasts several exciting features, as outlined in a community post by OnePlus. Among them is the Trinity Engine, designed to optimize performance and extend battery life. Utilizing CPU Vitalization, RAM Vitalization, and ROM Vitalization, this engine efficiently allocates internal resources, providing an additional 20 minutes of battery life without compromising performance. Even after 48 months of regular use, OxygenOS 14 promises to keep OnePlus devices running smoothly, thanks to ROM Vitalization.
For gaming enthusiasts, OxygenOS 14 introduces HyperRendering, HyperTouch, and HyperBoost technologies, ensuring a more immersive gaming experience. The latest iteration of HyperBoost incorporates AI machine learning, intelligent performance control, and graphics element layout approaches to address power consumption issues while maintaining a consistent frame rate.
Security receives a significant boost in OxygenOS 14 with the introduction of the Trusted Execution Environment (TEE)-based Device Security Engine 3.0. Enhancements to the Security Center provide users with a unified interface for better control over device security and privacy settings. Strong Box, a chip-level security encryption technology, powered by the embedded Secure Element (eSE) chip, safeguards against third-party access to passwords.
Enhanced privacy features include Auto Pixelate 2.0, which conceals sensitive information, such as contact details and credit card numbers, when sharing screenshots. OxygenOS 14 also introduces an “Ask every time” option for photo and video permission management, ensuring users grant consent before applications access their media.
The Smart Cutout tool allows users to identify and crop up to three elements in a picture or video, making it easier to isolate subjects in complex backgrounds or group photos.
OxygenOS 14 builds on Aquamorphic Design 2.0, featuring the Fluid Cloud feature and introducing eleven new global UI sound designs, including call, alarm, and notification ringtones with an Aquamorphic theme.
The update also enhances user experience with gestures for the File Dock feature, simplifying the collection, analysis, and sharing of information. The Go Green AOD feature promotes eco-friendly decision-making by adjusting the device’s Always-On Display carbon footprint theme intuitively.
