In a classic Google move, the company has officially confirmed the existence and launch date of its next flagship phone the Pixel 10 Pro weeks ahead of its public unveiling. A teaser page is now live on the Google Store, leaving little to the imagination and firmly establishing August 20 as the big day for the Pixel 10 lineup.
A Familiar Look, A New Name
At first glance, the device teased looks almost identical to last year’s Pixel 9 Pro. The most noticeable external distinction is the temperature sensor situated just below the flash in the camera housing, a feature that confirms its “Pro” identity.
As for the color? Google is calling it Moonstone, but like other recent shades Hazel, Porcelain, and Obsidian it may not differ drastically from existing tones. Early impressions suggest another variation on grey.
What to Expect at the Pixel 10 Launch
The teaser not only confirms the name and launch date of the Pixel 10 but also hints at a larger ecosystem reveal. According to multiple leaks and insider information, Google will unveil:
- Pixel 10
- Pixel 10 Pro
- Pixel 10 Pro XL
- Pixel 10 Pro Fold
- Pixel Watch 4
- Pixel Buds 2a
Users visiting the teaser page can sign up for updates, with Google promising an “exclusive offer” for new subscribers though no further details have been shared yet.
Not a Revolution, But a Refinement
Hardware-wise, the Pixel 10 series won’t be a major overhaul. Reports indicate that the devices will move to Tensor G5 processors, and the base Pixel 10 will get a notable camera upgrade with a triple-lens system—including a telephoto lens, previously reserved for Pro models. It’s also expected to share the main sensor from the Pixel 9a.
On the software side, the phones will ship with Android 16 and showcase Google’s Material 3 Expressive design language, which will gradually roll out to older Pixel devices as well.
Importantly, Google will continue its industry-leading seven years of software support, further solidifying Pixel phones as a long-term investment for Android users.
Google’s AI Ambitions Take Center Stage
While performance may not rival the raw power of Snapdragon-equipped flagships, and charging speeds won’t compete with brands like OnePlus or Honor, the Pixel 10 will again bet big on software and AI.
A subtle reference in the website’s backend code suggests the company is preparing a marketing campaign themed around “breaking up” with your old phone—with the help of Gemini, Google’s generative AI. This reinforces the company’s narrative that Pixel is the smartest phone you can own, not just the newest.
Should You Wait?
Despite the fanfare, this year’s Pixel launch appears to be a consolidation, not a revolution. That said, the Pixel 9 series is currently seeing heavy discounts, making it an attractive option for those less concerned with owning the latest and more interested in Google’s clean Android experience.
With less than a month until launch, all eyes now turn to August 20, when we’ll see how far the Pixel 10 has come and how far Google is willing to push its vision for AI-first smartphones.
