Akwa Ibom State Government has entered into a strategic partnership with T2, a leading digital solutions company, to accelerate technology-driven growth and innovation across the state.
Governor Umo Eno announced the collaboration during the opening ceremony of the Ibom Ignite Conference 2025 in Uyo — a youth-focused gathering centred on leadership, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
According to the governor, the partnership is part of his administration’s broader vision to position Akwa Ibom as a digital powerhouse in Nigeria’s South-South region.
“We are committed to investing in the future of our youth by supporting innovation, startups, and human capital development,” Eno said.
T2’s Chief Executive Officer, Obafemi Banigbe, described Akwa Ibom’s potential as “immense,” adding that the state could evolve into a major hub for software solutions, artificial intelligence applications, and tech startups in the coming years.
“Human capital, not oil, will define the state’s future,” Banigbe asserted.
The conference featured keynote addresses, panel discussions, and startup pitch competitions designed to nurture emerging innovators. A special T2 customer forum was also held to improve user experience and strengthen collaboration between the company and local stakeholders.
The partnership marks a major step in Akwa Ibom’s digital transformation agenda, underscoring its commitment to creating opportunities for young people through technology and entrepreneurship.
