The Stakeholders in Blockchain Technology Association of Nigeria (SiBAN) has entered into a strategic partnership with Roqqu, a leading digital finance and blockchain solutions provider, to accelerate blockchain adoption and deepen Nigeria’s digital asset ecosystem.
The alliance, announced after Roqqu’s admission into SiBAN as a corporate member, is aimed at building a credible, transparent, and sustainable framework for blockchain growth in the country.
According to a joint statement, the collaboration will focus on education, innovation, and regulatory engagement. Both organisations plan to co-host awareness programmes, develop training for developers and the public, and engage regulators and policymakers to promote responsible adoption.
“We are delighted to have this collaboration. Our collective strength lies in the diversity and commitment that we both bring to the table and ultimately contribute to the growth of the blockchain ecosystem,” said SiBAN President, Obinna Iwuno.
SiBAN, established as a self-regulatory body, provides a platform for knowledge-sharing, policy dialogue and industry credibility in Nigeria’s blockchain space. The group has been at the forefront of efforts to promote safe and responsible participation in digital assets.
For Roqqu, the partnership is a natural step in its expansion strategy. The company operates in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and South Africa, and recently secured a virtual currency licence in the European Economic Area, bolstering its international presence.
“This collaboration represents a united front between innovators and industry advocates to create a credible and transparent digital asset ecosystem that will drive financial inclusion and economic growth,” said Roqqu’s Chief Compliance Officer, Roimot Ajiboye-Ibitoye.
Industry observers note that the partnership comes at a critical time as blockchain adoption gains traction in Nigeria, but continues to face trust and regulatory challenges. By combining Roqqu’s technology expertise with SiBAN’s advocacy role, both organisations aim to close the gap between innovation and responsible adoption.
The initiative also aligns with Nigeria’s broader digital economy ambitions, as fintech and blockchain solutions increasingly shape Africa’s largest economy.
