After months of anticipation, Apple has officially announced that its AI-powered suite, known as Apple Intelligence, will debut on the Vision Pro headset with the visionOS 2.4 update, set for release in April.
According to Apple’s press release, the update will bring a range of generative AI tools, including Writing Tools, Image Playground, and Genmoji, along with features like Smart Reply, Create a Memory Movie, and natural language search—many of which align with AI enhancements coming to the iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
A New AI-Exclusive Feature for Vision Pro
A standout addition exclusive to the Vision Pro is Spatial Gallery, a dedicated application designed to curate spatial photos, videos, and panoramic shots from various sources. It will feature behind-the-scenes content from Apple Originals, professional photography, and more.
Additional Enhancements
Beyond AI capabilities, visionOS 2.4 introduces:
- Guest User mode improvements for better accessibility.
- A dedicated Vision Pro app for iPhone, making it easier to manage apps and spatial content.
Limited Beta Launch and Availability
Apple confirmed that Apple Intelligence will roll out in beta, requiring the Vision Pro’s Siri language to be set to US English for initial testing. Future updates will expand AI tools and support more languages.
Upon launch, Spatial Gallery will be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, the UAE, the UK, and the US. Meanwhile, the Vision Pro iPhone app will arrive alongside iOS 18.4.
This marks Apple’s first major AI expansion for Vision Pro, bringing advanced intelligence to spatial computing and setting the stage for further innovations in the coming months.
