The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has called on Konga Communications to focus on climate change sensitization and commerce-related content as part of its programming strategy.
The directive was issued following a working visit by an NBC delegation to KongaTV and KongaFM 103.7 on February 24. The delegation was led by NBC Director General, Charles Ebuebu, alongside Lagos Zonal Director, Raphael Akpan, and Director of Public Affairs, Susan Obi.
During the visit, the commission advised Konga Communications to ensure that at least 70% of its programming is commerce-related, while 20% focuses on news content, aligning with Konga’s mission of integrating entertainment and commerce.
Promoting Climate Awareness and Sustainable Broadcasting
The NBC also urged the broadcaster to incorporate climate change awareness into its programming, emphasizing the media’s role in driving environmental sustainability and public education on climate action.
“Broadcasting plays a crucial role in shaping public perception and driving positive change. We encourage Konga Communications to champion climate-related discourse while strengthening its core commerce-driven content,” NBC DG Ebuebu stated.

Ifeoma Ajumobi, Head of KongaTV and KongaFM, expressed appreciation for the NBC’s guidance, reaffirming the company’s commitment to regulatory compliance and innovative programming.
“We are incredibly honored to host the NBC team and benefit from their insights. Their feedback provides a clear roadmap to enhance our content, engage our audience, and uphold the highest broadcasting standards,” Ajumobi said.
She further emphasized Konga’s dedication to commerce-driven and informative programming, while also advocating for climate action and community development.
