Apple has rolled out its latest iOS update, version 18.4, which introduces several exciting features, including improved notifications, expanded language support for Apple Intelligence, and a new section for recipes for News Plus subscribers.
One of the standout features of the update is the Priority Notifications tool, designed to help users better manage alerts by allowing them to prioritize specific notifications over others. This is expected to improve the user experience, especially for those who receive a high volume of notifications throughout the day.
Additionally, Apple Intelligence, which powers Siri, has been expanded to include more languages, further enhancing the voice assistant’s ability to understand and respond to users in diverse linguistic contexts.
The update also includes improvements to the Photos app and introduces a new recipes section for users subscribed to Apple News Plus. This addition aims to make it easier for culinary enthusiasts to access a wide range of cooking-related content.
However, one of the most notable highlights of iOS 18.4 is the inclusion of eight new emojis, which will bring more expressive options to users when messaging. The new emojis are:
- Face with Bags Under Eyes
- Fingerprint
- Splatter
- Root Vegetable
- Leafless Tree
- Harp
- Shovel
- The Sark Flag
These emojis are available across all Apple devices, including the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch. However, users who do not update to the latest version will see a gray box in place of these new additions.
To install the update, users can navigate to Settings > General > Software Update on their Apple devices.
The release of iOS 18.4 is expected to improve the overall functionality of Apple devices while also adding some fun with the new emojis, marking a notable step forward in the company’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its software ecosystem.
