Lagos, Nigeria – GTI Microfinance Bank on Monday launched SAHA+, a new digital banking application designed to give Nigerians seamless access to savings, credit, and transfers, as part of its drive to expand financial inclusion.
Founded in 2007 and licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria, GTI Microfinance Bank is a subsidiary of GTI Group, with a mandate to broaden access to financial services and support economic growth.
“SAHA+ is more than just a banking app; it is a bridge to a future where every individual can access financial services seamlessly, irrespective of location or background,” said Hawa Haruna-Sheidi, Managing Director of GTI Microfinance Bank, at the launch event in Lagos.
She described the platform as a symbol of the bank’s commitment to “smarter, faster, and more secure banking,” adding that it was designed to break barriers and bring financial services closer to the people.
The app integrates a broad range of services, from savings and fund transfers to access to credit, with features tailored to empower individuals, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.
GTI Group’s Head of Technology, Nnamdi Obi, said SAHA+ was conceived as a financial partner rather than just a digital tool.
“SAHA+ provides insights into your spending habits to encourage financial discipline and smarter decision-making. From saving and locking funds securely to earning attractive returns, these features are only the beginning,” Obi explained.
He noted that the app allows for a personalised banking experience, enabling users to interact directly with GTI for customised services.
According to Obi, GTI’s broader vision is to ensure no Nigerian is left behind in the fast-evolving digital finance landscape.
“Our mission has always been to raise financial values and empower lives. With SAHA+, we are reinforcing that commitment by giving users a tool that simplifies their financial journey while ensuring security and accessibility,” he said.
GTI described SAHA+ as part of its philosophy of being an institution “where financial possibilities are limitless,” highlighting that the platform combines technology with customer-centred services to strengthen trust and accessibility.
Over the years, GTI Microfinance Bank has built a portfolio spanning savings, credit, and investment products, along with entrepreneurial training programmes. The rollout of SAHA+, it said, reflects a step forward in adapting to how Nigerians engage with money in a digital age.
