Samsung has expanded its popular Fan Edition lineup with the launch of the Galaxy S25 FE, unveiled at IFA 2025 in Berlin. The mid-range device is being positioned as a more affordable alternative to the flagship Galaxy S25 series, offering many premium features at nearly half the cost.
Retailing at £649, the Galaxy S25 FE comes with a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with HDR10+ support and a 120Hz refresh rate. While not LTPO-enabled like its flagship counterparts, the screen delivers vibrant colours and deep blacks, bringing the device closer in performance to the S25 Plus.
The design mirrors Samsung’s premium aesthetics with a glass and aluminium body, IP68 dust and water resistance, and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. It is also thinner and lighter than last year’s S24 FE, measuring 7.4mm thick and weighing 190g.
Camera performance remains largely unchanged from its predecessor, with a 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, and 8MP 3x telephoto lens setup. Samsung promises improved image quality with its new ProVisual Engine, while the 12MP selfie camera gets a modest upgrade. The device also supports AI-powered photography features, including generative editing and instant slow-motion.
Under the hood, the S25 FE runs on Samsung’s Exynos 2400 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. Though not as powerful as the Snapdragon 8 Elite found in the S25 Ultra, Samsung says performance is optimized with an upgraded cooling system.
One of the key highlights is the larger 4900mAh battery, the biggest ever in an FE model, paired with 45W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging with Qi2 support.
The phone launches with One UI 8 based on Android 16, making it the first in the S25 series to ship with the update. It also comes with Samsung’s full suite of Galaxy AI tools, including live translation, Circle to Search, and the new Now Brief feature.
Available in Navy, Icyblue, Jetblack, and White, the Galaxy S25 FE is expected to hit shelves later this month across major markets.
Industry analysts suggest the device could be one of Samsung’s strongest Fan Edition models to date, thanks to meaningful upgrades in durability, battery life, and AI features.
