Samsung has officially launched its latest flagship tablet, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, at the ongoing IFA 2025 tech fair in Berlin, introducing incremental but meaningful upgrades to its premium lineup.
The new device, priced at £1,199, retains its hallmark 14.6-inch AMOLED display, but comes slimmer and lighter at 5.1mm thickness and 692g weight. Samsung says the improvements aim to enhance portability while preserving the expansive screen that has defined the Ultra series.
One of the most notable changes is the redesigned S Pen, which now attaches magnetically to the tablet’s side rather than the back—a move that aligns it with rivals such as the iPad Pro and OnePlus Pad 3. The stylus has also been reshaped into a pencil-like hexagonal design, offering a lighter, more comfortable grip.
Under the hood, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor, paired with 12GB or 16GB of RAM, and comes in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options. It runs on Android 16 with Samsung’s One UI 8, which introduces an upgraded version of DeX mode, allowing users to run apps in resizable windows for a more desktop-like experience.
The tablet also boasts a larger 11,600mAh battery with 45W fast charging and maintains IP68 water and dust resistance, a feature still absent in Apple’s iPad range.
Camera specifications remain modest, with a 12MP front camera for video calls and a 13MP + 8MP dual rear setup, reflecting Samsung’s focus on productivity and multimedia rather than photography.
Analysts say Samsung’s refinements particularly the slimmer build, improved stylus placement, and enhanced multitasking software—address long-standing user complaints and position the Tab S11 Ultra as a serious alternative to laptops.
“The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is less about radical change and more about perfecting the formula,” said one industry observer. “It’s designed for professionals and media enthusiasts who want the best display and serious multitasking capabilities.”
The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is available in grey and silver colour options and is expected to hit global markets later this month.
