Abuja, Nigeria — Telecommunications innovation company Vitel Wireless has launched its nationwide communication service, a cutting-edge platform designed to transform how Nigerian businesses connect, collaborate, and grow.
The launch event, held on Tuesday, brought together business executives, SME owners, and industry professionals eager to experience Vitel’s integrated system, which merges traditional GSM technology with cloud-based communication for smarter, more affordable, and secure connectivity.
Speaking at the event, Engr. Kenneth Nwabueze, Executive Chairman of Vitel Wireless, said the company’s new network was more than a communication tool — it was “a growth engine for businesses.”
“We understand the challenges small and large enterprises face in managing communication costs and team coordination. Our network provides an affordable solution that combines smart technology with security and scalability,” Nwabueze said.
“Whether you’re a logistics company, school, hospital, or startup, Vitel connects your people, protects your operations, and empowers your growth.”
Nwabueze explained that the company’s Closed User Group (CUG) feature allows organisations to connect up to 50 team lines under one private network, enabling free internal calls and messaging, discounted data bundles, 24/7 Auto Attendant, and custom staff extensions. The service also supports international connectivity at competitive rates, helping SMEs and corporates extend their global reach.
Highlighting the company’s focus on workplace safety and efficiency, Nwabueze unveiled Vitel’s proprietary SecureMe and Oga-App platforms, which provide enhanced tracking, SOS alerts, and automated workforce management tools.
Also speaking, Chiobi Ben Odera, Head of Product Marketing at Vitel, described the new system as “a complete communication ecosystem for modern organisations.”
“It’s about helping teams communicate better and perform better. Every business today needs to be smarter, safer, and more connected,” Odera said.
“With our Closed User Group and Location Awareness Technology, companies can now streamline internal communication, improve productivity, and project a more professional image while saving costs.”
Odera explained that Vitel’s Location Awareness Technology integrates SecureMe, Oga-App, and Location-Based Services, offering businesses real-time visibility over staff, assets, and logistics operations.
The launch event featured a live demonstration of both SecureMe — a user-controlled safety app that tracks movement only when activated — and Oga-App, which verifies staff attendance using GPS and generates automated performance reports.
With its innovative tools, Vitel Wireless positions itself as a key player in Nigeria’s fast-evolving telecom landscape, aiming to help businesses stay connected, efficient, and secure in the digital era.
